“Networking is the No. 1 unwritten rule of success in business” –
Sallie L. Krawcheck
How it all started
The Federation of Small Businesses (FSB) hardly needs an introduction. As a nation-wide lobbying organisation it offers small business advice, financial expertise and a powerful voice in UK government. When the lockdown happened in March 2020, I felt the need to support and collaborate with other professionals and business owners looking to reboot and reinvent their business in these challenging times. I participated in the COVID-19 Business Support run by other FSB volunteers and was honoured to be asked to lead a new Kingston and Richmond group.
I ran our inaugural event in Kingston August 2020. The event was very well received; the positive feedback and enthusiasm of our guests have given us the motivation to keep going. The events are online for now until we are able to meet face to face again.

“It’s all about getting to know the real people behind their LinkedIn profiles” – Celia
My intention for these virtual networking events is to forge close relationships with the local business community, encourage partnerships and collaboration, and create opportunities. I’m also working with Kingston and Richmond Councils to engage with their many business initiatives during these times of uncertainty.
I am interested in connecting with other businesses based in the KT and TW postal areas, ranging from Richmond, Twickenham and Kingston to Surbiton and Chessington. If your business is based in these two boroughs then please come along to see what we offer. Go to the FSB website and type “Kingston” or “Richmond” in the search bar.
The success of these events also rests on having strong speakers who add value to our guests’ business by sharing their expertise. So far we had some wonderful business speakers and if you are interested in presenting please drop me a line and we can have a chat.
The virtual networking events are free for both FSB members as well as non-members. Though they are focused in our local area you are very welcome to teleport from any part of the country. We frequently get members from other London boroughs as well as Surrey and other Home Counties.
I look forward to e-meeting you in the next few months.
